Our Pathologists
“I truly believe that if medical students had the same exposure to the field of pathology as I was fortunate to experience, then medicine’s best kept secret would become the most sought-after field of practice."
Anthony Martinez, M.D
Dr. Anthony Martinez is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, dermatopathology and has additional fellowship training and expertise in bone and soft tissue pathology.
Dr. Martinez earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Mexico and received his medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. He completed residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Emory University where he served as chief resident. Dr. Martinez then completed a bone and soft tissue fellowship at Mayo Clinic followed by a dermatopathology fellowship at Emory University. He has received teaching awards and his research has been published in a number of leading journals. Most recently, he was faculty at Emory University School of Medicine prior to joining SaraPath Diagnostics.
Dr. Martinez originally thought he was going to be a gastroenterologist upon entering medical school; however, he completed a post-sophomore fellowship in pathology and has never looked back. “I truly believe that if medical students had the same exposure to the field of pathology as I was fortunate to experience, then medicine’s best kept secret would become the most sought-after field of practice."
In his spare time, Dr. Martinez enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and dogs.
